Exam Content

Types of Question

The examination consists of 80 Multiple Choice Questions. Multiple-choice questions can be of following two types

• Multiple Response: Two or More Correct response from the given options best suits the statement or answers the question.
• Single Response: Only One correct response from the given options best suits the statement or answers the question.

Exam Duration

Candidates will have 180 minutes for attempting 80 multiple-choice questions. So, it becomes important for the candidates to time-box the exam and restrict spending too much time on one question or one topic.

Exam Results

The SAP HANA (SPS12) exam is a pass or fail exam. The examination is scored against a minimum standard established by SAP who are guided by certification industry best practices and guidelines.

It is important for the candidates to at least score 60% in the examination to be termed as Pass. The score will be notified on-line immediately after finishing the exam. After passing the exam, an SAP Global Certification digital badge will be sent to the registered email ID.

SAP HANA (SPS12) exam is designed based on the implementations, management and customization areas which covers the entire SAP HANA Technology. Following are the major topics along with their weight-age in the examination, giving you a clear view of which topics, you should focus on for the certification of SAP HANA (SPS12). • SAP HANA Installation & Upgrades: 8 to 12% Knowledge of evaluating pre-requisites for SAP HANA installations, verifying hardware and operation systems, and describing installation and post-installation tasks.

• Operations of SAP HANA: more than 12% Knowledge of setting up an administration and operational strategy for SAP HANA. Using SAP HANA Studio and HDBSQL to Start, Stop, Analyze Performance, and Transport Management.

• High Availability & Disaster Tolerance: less than 8% Knowledge of designing a strategy for high availability and disaster recovery, explaining high availability and system replication features of SAP HANA.

• Database Migration to SAP HANA: 8 to 12% Knowledge of describing Database Migration Operation (DMO) benefits. Its procedure steps, different migration options, preparation steps, and techniques to reduce downtime.

• Troubleshooting for SAP HANA: 8 to 12% Knowledge for analysing system files, using SQL console, and troubleshooting SAP HANA system performance by configuring traces.

• Backup & Recovery: 8 to 12% Knowledge of designing a strategy for backup and recovery of SAP HANA. Also understanding the backup catalog and the configuration files for database copy scenarios.

• Users & Authorization: 8 to 12% Knowledge of setting up authorization traces for describing SAP HANA authorization concept, different authorization privileges, and SAP HANA database repository.

• Monitoring of SAP HANA: more than 12% Knowledge of using DBA Cockpit, SAP HANA Studio, SAP HANA Cockpit, and the trace files to set up and execute monitoring for SAP HANA.

• Security: 8 to 12% Knowledge of Describing SAP HANA authorization and authentication concepts and setting up the encryption techniques and auditing processes for SAP HANA.

• System Architecture: 8 to 12% Knowledge of designing system architecture for SAP HANA implementation including hardware sizing, data persistence, network requirements, and integration with existing customer landscape.
